Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The 16th Annual Dance for World Community Festival, Greater Boston’s largest and famously inclusive dance event on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in Harvard Square, Cambridge
The indoor/outdoor event will feature five performance stages, diverse dance forms presented by over 60 dance groups, free introductory-level dance classes and table exhibits along “Advocacy Way” on Massachusetts Avenue (between Bow Street and Putnam Avenue) by area nonprofits. A free event for all to enjoy, the Festival brings together local dance performers, instructors, other artists and activists from social service and advocacy agencies to raise awareness about the growing urgency for world peace, and social and environmental justice.
Volunteer Perks
All volunteers will receive a brand new 2026 DWC Festival T-shirt and voucher for one free adult ballet class to redeem later at José Mateo Ballet Theatre!

Saturday June 6, 2026, with Performances and Classes from 12-6pm, and Dance Party from 6-8pm
WHERE
Massachusetts Avenue (between Putnam Ave and Bow St) in Harvard Square, Cambridge
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS AND DUTIES
Shifts are 3 hours long. Volunteers can sign up for one or multiple shifts. Volunteer duties will vary according to assigned shifts which begin at 7am and end at 10pm
SET-UP VOLUNTEER: Assist with installation of flags, banners, and signage; deliver materials to stages and tents; set up tables and chairs for stages and vendors; man Information Tent; etc.
EVENT VOLUNTEER: Manage Information Tent, monitor tables along Advocacy Way, sign in dance groups and vendors, assist at the performance stages or classrooms, greet festival attendees and answer questions, promote the raffle, etc.
CLEAN-UP / BREAKDOWN VOLUNTEER: Break down tables and chairs at each tent and stage and along Advocacy Way, clean up festival grounds, put away various materials, etc.
